Nurseries News Round-Up – Week 67

Your weekly round-up of news from around our wonderful Golden Apples Family nurseries is here!

TWIST AND SHOUT!

Halesworth Day Nursery, Halesworth

The children made cinnamon twists ready for dessert!

They watched Amie cut up the pastry and then had a go themselves.

The children used the spoons to spread out the cinnamon. The twists were then placed on a baking tray ready for the oven.

SQUASH GAME!

The Meerkats and Lemurs picked the Butternut Squash that we’ve been growing and decided to cut them up to see what was inside.

The children were very keen to plant the seeds they found inside in the hope we can grow some more!

TAKE CARE!

The Beacon, Rendlesham

Continuing our family topic, the Pre Schoolers and Toddlers spent the day caring for babies.

They fed them breakfast – and when they became grubby, they gave them a bath.

Adult-led activities are important as they provide children with opportunities for introducing new knowledge or ideas, and for developing and practising skills.

However, it is also important to allow children to be involved in their own child-initiated play as this supports them in having ideas and being in control of their own learning.

By allowing the child space and time they may extend the resources and ideas given to them to create their own experience.

Today, our baby washing salon also became a car wash, a hairdressers and even a swamp for foam snakes!

FAMILY TIME!

Pre School spent time discussing and drawing pictures of their families.

Toddlers explored family puzzles, working together to create lots of unique families, learning about different cultures and sharing stories of their own families!

RUSSETS RETURN!

The Appletree, Attleborough

Russet Room have thoroughly enjoyed being back together again and enjoying each other’s company!

The children have enjoyed exploring the Happyland houses and figures, playing in their new sand tray, emptying and filling in the water trays and exploring the new part of the garden.

Fabulous fun!

LEARNING ABOUT ME!

Pippins have had great fun exploring our September topic ‘All About Me’.

The children are learning all about themselves – and started by exploring paint with their hands and feet. They chose each colour and the adults supported them to paint and print their hands and feet on paper.

To extend our learning at home you can talk about or name body parts or try looking in a mirror and see what facial features you can see.

HOUSE PARTY!

Bramley Room children focused on ‘Who lives in our house?’ for the ‘All About Me’ topic.

The children constructed their own house using lolly sticks with glue and then painted their houses. The children finger painted who lives in their houses using different colours:

Me - Orange

Dad - Red

Mum - Green

Brother - Blue

Sister - Yellow

Grandparents - Purple

Pets - Black

Once finished, they will be displayed on our All About Me board so the children can take pride in their creations and also compare their different family dynamic

PARACHUTE PALS!

The Cornerstone, Martlesham

The children have been playing parachute games in the garden. They took turns at having a turn in the middle of the parachute and being spun round.

Wonderful fun!

WATER WEEK!

Head Start, Ramsey

What a fun first week of term we had!

It’ was a very hot week so the children enjoyed plenty of water play and alfresco dinning.

It was so nice to have all our children back at nursery, to hear about their summer holidays and to settle the new children into Head Start.

We hope your little ones are settling well and enjoying nursery!
